However, it is enough for serious market players to become interested in the festival - it is unlikely that film studios will decide to present new products here in the near future. As a market for the promotion of future paintings, Ukraine is too poor and small for them. On the other hand, this problem can be solved by going international and claiming to be a contender for "Europe's largest comic-con" (or at least trying to compete with Bucharest or Moscow). But this requires much more resources.

In a local sense, the Kiev comic-con is developing in the right direction, albeit slowly. For the first festivals, the organizers chose the simplest and most "light" pop format, trying to attract the attention not of the geek community, but of the general public. For this purpose, pre-premiere screenings are organized (viewers of the current comic-con saw "Alien" and "King Arthur" at the same time as American film critics), public lectures and master classes, workshops, as well as conventional entertainment such as a video game zone or a board game zone. Well, where can you get away from cosplay, which is improving from year to year.
The biggest achievement of the organizers is their direct participation in the appearance of the first official translations of comics in Ukraine. Of course, we are talking about the 4 books presented by DC comics: "Murder Joke", "Batman: Year One", "Justice League: Book 1" and "Suicide Squad".
Also, do not forget that comic-con has become a platform for the presentation of a domestic product - you can recall the comics "The Reluctant Hero" (based on the novel by Franco), "Will" (an alternative history of the UPR in the steam-punk style), the film "Watchtower", the animation "Kobzar 2015" and many others. The festival has become a showcase for Ukrainian pop culture, which was previously hidden in basements.
According to one of the organizers of the festival, Maria Shagur, in the coming years the festival is going to reach the international level, attracting primarily foreign speakers.:

We have undoubtedly managed to implement a lot in terms of the program: we cooperate with all major film distributors, organize pre-premiere screenings, attract many cool stands and partners, promote the emergence and popularization of a high-quality Russian-language product - comics (finally DC!), literature, cinema. Of course, we would like to reach an even higher level: expand, cooperate with foreign speakers and guests, and offer original, vibrant, and high-quality content. And we are starting to work on all these tasks right now.
